Galicia

Noch nicht in Galizien aber auf dem Weg in die Stadt Gijon, werden wir beim Frühstücken und Ausrüstung trocknen, Zeuge eines Schwimmwettbewerbs im offenen Meer. 

Almost a daily ritual: Breakfast/lunch and drying our equipement.

In Frejulfe wollen wir Christoffer und Moritz nochmals treffen. Gleichzeitig machen wir Bekanntschaft mit Manuel Madrid, der zu Fuss und ohne Geld unterwegs ist, von Paris nach Santiago und von dort will er weiter nach Jerusalem. Meistens läuft er in Flip Flops.

Chris and Mo, in their Maggelan Campervan. Awesome people, thank you so much for helping us out. Cooking a delicious meal, looking after the bikes. Not to forget surfing, ball playing and all the laughs we shared.

Regenwetter und Wind in Galizien, aber der Risotto gelingt auch vom Zelt aus.

Rain and wind force us to cook from inside the tent.

Wieder eine bergige Etappe um nach Santiago de compostela zu gelangen. Wir erleben Galicien von seiner typischen Seite: Regen und Nebel.

In Mondonedo strong winds and rain forces us to wait 24h, until we decide to cycle on in still rainy weather.

Platz zum Aufhängen gibt es genug...und das Zelt trocknet zum Glück schnell.

Vor dem Supermarkt sehen wir ein voll beladenes Tourenvelo - das löst Neugierde aus und es sind immer spannende Begegnungen. Dieses Mal lernen wir Alex kennen.

But then we meet Alex from Lativa, what a good person. He knows a good camping spot and we spend some good hours together.

Santiago de compostela es cerca!

Anstatt die vielbefahrene Strasse zu nehmen fahren wir übers Land und werden prompt zu einer üppigen Grillade (Assado nach argentinischer Art) eingeladen. 

Santiago is close. Taking a alternative route, we meet Marcos in the pueblo of Papucin and get invited to Assado, Empanadas, Tortilla, Pimentos, Torta and lots of vine. And this was only for lunch. 

Blessed with sunshine we find again, a nice campsite on a littel Island, surrounded by the rio Tambre.

Nach 6 Wochen und ungefähr 2000 km erreichen wir Santiago de compostela - auch für uns ein Etappenziel.

Usualy people would ask us, if we are on the camino to santiago. And we would answer: "Yes, but to Santiago de Chile"
